DJ Rookie began mixing in the late 90’s, cutting his teeth on the turntables at house parties while studying at university in Sheffield. His selections explored a wide range of styles from Trance through to Drum&Bass, heavily influenced by the thriving rave scene in Sheffield at the time.
Whether it’s the acid-tinged, glitchy pulse of Electro, the powerful punch of Breakbeat, or the raw energy of Jungle and Hardcore, DJ Rookie's selections veer towards the harder side of electronic music whilst still allowing the time and place for something more funky or mellow.
